Ice on our lake is gone this morning. In our 33 years on the lake this is only the second time it has gone out in March. Usual time is mid April but 2 years ago there was still ice on May 7. Every year is different. Maybe this year I won't need to stake my turkey decoys in a snow bank like I have the last 2 years. (3rd week in April)

Went out on the river here early as well.
Massive ice ridges on the big lake shore because of this major weather boom 97.3 pressure, that is happening, south wind to push out and a north wester to push in.

We don't get the ice you guys up north do but our ice went out real fast this year. I mean within days I went from walking on it to rotten ice.

Those 50 mph winds yesterday did a number on the lake ice......will see when Winnipesaukee ice goes out....and how it compares to years past.

I'm glad. The crappie and walleye fishing should really be good by opener. They'll all be done spawning and ready to put on the feedbag.

Just means on our lake the Indians will get to spear and net in the walleye spawning beds earlier than usual. eek
