One December muzzle loader season I was hunting in 16" fluffy snow down on a low mountain and when I got on top of the ridge it was up to my knee's. I was heading west to the end of the ridge when I came across huge tracks with a six foot space between them and they were bipedal. I couldn't make out the track for identification but realized there was no belly drag marks in the snow and I was pushing snow it was so deep. It wasn't a deer running. I went on and down the front of the ridge and ran into another hunter that had come along the south side of the ridge and he saw the tracks in the 16" snow and couldn't figure them out either. I new this hunter and he has taken 8 bears and I have taken 11 and neither of us thought it was a bear or deer. The six foot spacing with no disturbed snow between them. They were the only tracks I saw going across the ridge, I believe the snow was too deep for the deer to be up there. A month later at my wifes banks christmas party I was talking hunting with with the husband of one of my wifes co worker. He asked me If I had hunted the area where I found the tracks. We have known each other for 30 years and we both criss cross each others hunting areas. He told me he was hunting up the north side of that ridge and found the track way also and couldn't believe the stride between the tracks going up the towards the ridge and it never changed as it went up between the rock ledges to the top of the ridge. This hunter has taken 19 bears and many large bucks by tracking them. He had a hard time following the tracks up onto the ridge because of the steep terrain, he had to circle east away from the tracks to reach the top of the ridge. He cut my tracks ( not knowing they were mine) and walked them until he hit the large track way and saw where I had checked the large tracks out and then went on west down the ridge. He thought the tracks where something like 16" long and 8" wide but we really couldn't make out any deffinition . He also said they were bipedal and no way a bear could go through knee deep fluffy snow and be dragging it's belly through the snow. The three of us couldn't come up with an answer as to what made those tracks.

Cmcf, OK, I looked up and read some of the giant skeleton articles on line.

Now here's your homework: Look up: "De-bunking giant skeleton discovery hoaxs"

Seems to me Bigfoot is just another religion. We've talked about faith on this forum before, and I'm struck by the similarities. The traits of faith is that it doesn't require analytical proof, those who have it choose to believe it usually because of a personal experience. People who have had an experience believe what they believe regardless of the rational of those who haven't experienced it. For those who believe, all the evidence is obvious, even though it may be insignificant to non-believers.

Sound familiar?

Vermonster it is stories like that that make me hold out with a yeah maybe. Every time (almost) that I watch anything on TV or youtube I am disappointed but I did see a cool 3 part expedition documentary about trying to find the yeti over in Asia and Russia.

The Russian kids that all left their tents to die in the snow is an intersecting case study too BTW.

Wolfie, tell her if there is one around it is doubtful it is actually violent.
If they are real it seems they are good at posturing to get you movin on as opposed to actually harming a human.

JMO anyway, and based on stories that may or may not be true...

I believe in the possibility. I had a guy last year tell me about his experience with something and showed pictures of tracks. He is a veteran and avid outdoorsman. It shook him up telling about it.

What more proof are you looking for, did you take him for a liar?

He didn't see a creature. Only heard it. I'm very skeptical about it in places that aren't very remote.

I enjoy all proof people are willing to share

Have you ever seen the Patterson Gimlim film? That's a start.

The Dyatlov pass incident is what this is referring to:
Hole cut into side of tents as peepholes
Tents cut from the inside to get out
Naked or barely clothed people running into the Russian winter
Corpses foudn with eyes gouged out and tounges ripped out

I watched a good one where they showed what was on the camera they found at the site. One picture showed a fairly clear picture, not saying what it was but it sure as shooting looked like a Bigfoot (they called it a Menk)

If im not mistaken, Patterson himself confessed just prior to his death that his film was a hoax.

Beaverpeeler I read as much of the debunking sites as I could dodging the pop ups and the subscription requests
Every thing I saw related to the 2003-2017 and stuff pertaining to photo shopped and digital alterations and lawsuits involving the Smithsonian.
The stuff I was referring to is all early 1900s black and white pictures in newspapers of the era. Not much photoshoping and digital manipulation going on back then? The most striking one to me was the one from Kentucky with the two men on either side of a coffin? With the remains of a large hominid holding a child that was apparently taller than the men by half. If you zoom in on the head of the adult skeleton the similarity to modern artists representation of their heads is pretty creepy to me.
As I posted earlier I have no personal experience with them, if they exist. The only first person encounter I have knowledge of was a family from Fouke Ar. that had several close encounters with a very hairy reddish colored ape like creature that walked on two legs and was about 8’ tall. Enough of the local people said they had seen the same animal that a movie was made about it. The legend of boggy creek. The towns folk were thoroughly ticked with the movie as it didn’t portray the events accurately. The men I talked with were very serious about what they saw and were all experienced outdoorsmen hunting and gathering a large % of their food from the land.
