I have actually only used them a couple times, but I must say they are pretty easy to use. Otherwise you have to push up and use momentum to help, and you cant pull forward. On slick ice, no way...

I am not 19 any more either. lol

Ill bring the picks now thanks!

Hutch-yer an animal!

Great, informative video. Could be used as an outdoor survival teaching aid!!!
The breathing part-I've never seen or heard about. That was the biggest eye opener for me.

I made picks out of barn spikes, and built up handles out of hockey tape. Rope tied to each, and keep them hanging around my neck any time I go on ice.

By the way...nice shorts...lol

Hutchy, You may have saved a life or more here with your efforts. Some things I didn't think about and some I get careless about. I appreciated your effort and concern for others. Thank you.

Ice picks are standard equipment for me, until I'm on a familiar lake with alot of good ice.

Heres a few sets in my gear box, I made those wooden ones when I was a kid, about 40-years ago
and didnt have money. As I recall, they are just lag bolts screwed into broom stick, then sharpened
on a belt sander. Some guys just use old screw drivers and sharpen them.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Thanks, great job. Lots of good survival info.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

Awesome! Excited to make more as the adventures come up. Have fisher trapping filmed, and going to soon be doing a native spearing video where I hang out with some native friends spearing, then look at their fish hatchery. I am also making a traditional spear and surprising my buddy with a challenge to get one with a bone spear!

If the water is so cold it made you huff like a bear I'm worried ya might have suddenly had the nads of a buck squirrel.

J/k glad you're ok

Hutchy there are those that have joined to 330 club

But that Club you have started is;
Drum roll;
"The Hangman's dead pan knock"
the last things that people in the gallows hear is the pin being pulled.
Same as going through the ice.

Kept on coming up in my feed to youtube....but watched it on here.
Any possibilities in getting a Point Girl from Hook-line& Chill to sit in a clip fishing to get 5.3 million views ?

If its ONLY 5.3 million views you want, I will simply have to tone down the charm and knock back the boyish good looks a bit!

Wouldnt want to overshoot!
