The gum in those card packs tasted like cardboard. I never bought it I'll bet everyone who has posted here can remember the exact taste of that gum!

My mother got killed by a drunk driver. My brother and I ended up living with an elderly aunt and uncle. My not so wonderful grandmother and grandfather were executors of my mothers affairs. I had a really good baseball card collection going on because I was a enthusiastic fan. I had some great cards of some tremendous players. Mickey Mantel, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, and on and on.
My grandparents sold my baseball card collection, my baseball bats, my catcher mitt and fielders glove, my bike, etc. etc. I am sure my grandfather drank all of it away. He was what they called a go getter. He always took my grandmother to work then he would go get her. I was old enough to start learning about human behavior and recognize what kind of person I did not want to be. True story. Wow, that's just depressing...

I had some baseball and football cards from the early 1970s (mostly 73 through 75). I sold those on ebay in the late 1990s. I think about $40 or more was the best I got--I think it was a George Brett rookie. I have a list somewhere what I got for them.
When I was in college the second time around and then working in the late 80s, early 90s, I bought a lot of BB, FB cards again. I never bought sets, didn't believe in them. I wish I would have taken that money and put it into some mutual funds instead. I still have them. I should go through them, find the best, sell them for whatever, and pitch the rest or use for insulation somewhere...

I still have mine, but being born in the early 80’s, im guessing a lot my age still do. Theyre worthless, but i figured my kid might like them. Anyone who would have had 50’s or 60’s cards still have them ir did you stick all of them in your bike spokes. My mother got killed by a drunk driver. Sold my around 2005 or so. I had a he great collection. All from 1952 to 1971. Dozens of hall of famers. Sold at worse time. Prices were at a all time low. I think 40% of beckett magazine prices. Wish I had waited. My brother still has all of his. MD
