That’s all I do. I put my traps in a bucket of water, let soak. Then I pull them out scrub with a wire brush and rinse them off.
Well that is what I did before I got a pressure washer.

$40.00 ???? No way. It cost me around $5.00 to do 40 or more traps. Lay them out In the bed of your truck get up there and get It done.

I'd say if the way you have been doing things works for you, keep doing it the same way. I bought a cheaper power washer last year at Harbor Freight for around $70.00 Using that worked great for me.

Garden hose off, soak the really dirty one's. Rinse off and wax them. I only dye new traps, or ones that got the bare metal treatment. Skunk smell traps get, lye, dye and wax treatment.
Let me sugar coat this

A smart water trapper uses the free water that is available that you set your trap in. When you pull, swish the trap will take most of the mud off. I could see different if you land trapped and had muddy caked traps. All comes down to laziness and procrastination is my guess. I like traps clean bfore store an warm up I dip, ur not going get it traps clean in creek , mud inside coils, noway swish traps in creek get them clean, never, I had redo sone traps twice at power wash , dps are the worse but connibears in creeks for weeks at be sets need blasted hard with power washer , everthing, footholds inside coils, I heard mud an crud inside coils or unclean an rusting conni springs greatly weaken metal, lay out 40 traps on bay floor, put in $6-$7 bucks quarters, run out time, flip all traps an another $5$-7 bucks, I mean everything, stakes, buckets, whatever trap related, mud,, shovels, what have u, chain, especally dps, time consuming, stand on trap or lot traps so not blow away with knee boots an blast wand, blow out inside dp at mud an old bait , $3 bucks is not going to far an u can't tell me u can do 100 traps, stakes, chain, etc for $10 bucks, I don't go any big town car wash anywhere to wash truck, have phobia of them as years ago I had 2 inncidents at nite, I was follow to one a cheap car wash , spray shine $1.00 wash , an block in an I got truck an panic an back out an almost smash car anive out way, another time , someone watch me change machine across street at nite, I could tell he home in on me an start go across street toward me fast, I got truck an gone , also see a guy that probly homeless in carwash sleep in bag in car next stall, I forgot change on where out in, got mile away an went back , in 10 min the scavengers had clean up change

Buy,or borrow a cheap pressure washer. If you are going to use it for a lot of things around the house-buy one. If you're like me and only use once a year or so,just borrow one from your neighbor or a buddy.
