I just got my new Airforce Texan SS-CF 457 Cal. rifle today. I topped it with a Hawke 6-24x50 Airmax 30 SF Compact IR, 1/10 MRAD, 30mm scope. I bought a GX CS3 PCP Air Compressor for my air supply, which hooks up to a 12 volts battery or 110 outlet (it only weighs 12 lbs.). I get 3 super accurate shots before the you have to adjust using the MARD marks to compensate for drop. I'm shooting NAS 240 HP grain slugs. I'm getting right around 1,000 FPS out of it. It's able to harvest a deer at 200 yards. No more looking for ammo or gun powder with this. A box of 100 slugs is $19.95 + $7.00 shipping After the 1st fill of the tank it only takes about 4 minutes to top it back off to 3,625 lb. Does anybody else shoot or hunt with a Big Bore Air Rifle? If so what do you shoot?

So after 3 shots, you have to adjust because of lower air pressure? I know nothing about air rifles besides my Uncle's old 20cal. Benjamin Sheridan I've had since I was 8 Yes or you can backpack a lager Carbon Fiber tank to refill your rifle at your stand if you would need to top it off, or go back to your truck and use your 12 volt battery.

How long does it stay charged? If I fill the tank at home, will it stay charged all day?

I dabbled with PCPs but had trouble getting a guppy tank filled so it was either buy a compressor or go home. I went home. Those big bores are a hoot to shoot but they like their air. Air force used to use walther barrel I believe so it outta be a shooter. Good luck

I had to preorder my rifle which took 5 weeks to come in and yes the barrels are walther's. Only the barrels are made in Germany the rest of the rifle is made in Texas. Airforce Air Rifles is an American company out of Texas. They have a Life Time Warranty.

Yes you can shoot flat baes bullets to. 240 grain all the way up to 350 grain for the 457 Cal. But the Texan SS-CF 50 Cal. can shoot up to 510 grain slugs

That must be a new design compressor? The last I'd seen was the shoebox compressor that piggybacked off of a pancake compressor. I had a few air force rifles, great company to deal with.

It's a Chinese made compressor but most all are made in china now a days. It's got 3 fans in it to cool it. Your not supposed to run it longer that 15 minutes at a time with out letting it cool back down. Came with a 2 year warranty but you can buy a extended warranty up to 4 years for $76.99

Buck, can you get a rebuild kit for the compressor? That was one of the good points for the shoebox, it was easy to take down and replace parts.

What are your groups like at 100yds? So far I've only shot it out to 50 yards, and it is grouping sub 1 inch groups. Thats using NSA 240 grain slugs with a Caldwell Lead Sled.
