Anyone have experience with different brands of electric fillet knives? Do you prefer one over another?

Used many brands over the years and now I got Bass Pro Shop XPS lithium battery fillet knife. Bought a second battery and am so far very happy with it

I don't see any advantage to an electric fillet knife easier. As long as your regular fillet knife is sharp enough, I don't see how an oscillating knife can work better.

What advantage is their to an electric fillet knife?

The professional striper guides at lake Texoma all run American Angler electric knives and they get run through tons of big striper every day. I bought one like thiers because I was wearing out the mister twister and Rapala knives at least one a year. I've had my American Angler for 3 years now and still going strong.

I mostly use a corded American Angler and I'm definitely faster using it versus my regular fillet knives. My buddy likes to use a cordless Bubba Blade and he cleans way more fish than I do.

My dad used to use a beaver skinner blade to clean fish.

Once one gets used to a good quality Deba , there is not need for electric or flimsy filleting knives. does everything from tiny fish smaller than sardines to tuna . You do have to clean them as they rust really easy. So they take a bit of looking after.

Anyone who doesn't see an advantage to electric doesn't clean many buckets of pan fish like these...

I actually prefer the Mister Twister ones with a cord. I know cordless will die on me half way through, that's my luck.

American angler. I only use it for sunfish. Fishing on lake Erie 6 days a week iin the summer I see 90 percent of guys using electric knives at the local launch/fish cleaning station.
My buddy runs it so I go see him later in the day and once electric knives became popular they had to redo the outlets at the fish cleaning station to accommodate

American Angler here.

I have used the same one for almost 15 years.

Another vote for American Angler, it helps make short work of filleting big bunches of crappie, bluegill and red ear. I'm old enough to remember scaling, then learning to fillet with a Rapala fillet knife and then moving on to electric. A progression of about 65 years and no way will I use anything but my electric knife. No doubt it's faster when you've got a bunch to clean.

Maybe electric knives work better on spiny-rays and rough fish, but I've never seen anyone use them on either salmon or halibut, and I know guys who do thousands of pounds of those fish per month.
They do keep them very sharp though.

I've had a Mister Twister for about 25 years - still going strong. Has filleted tons of Walleye for Me. Once You go electric, You'll never go back !

I guess electric knives must work just fine but they're not for me. Ever since I was a small kid I've had an appreciation and fascination for knives (Real Knives!). I have many and I keep all of them very sharp. Some of them don't get used very often but I enjoy just getting them out and handling them.

x2

The videos I have seen of fish processing plants, they don't use electric, but I haven't seen very many fish processing videos.

I'm a cheap guy. Any electric knife works good for fillets and if ya get a 12 V one you can use thr tailgate for a cutting board (just make sure ta rinse it when u clean your gear).

For under a shade tree in the back yard I use an old metal mesh to ironing board. It stands free, adjusts to the height of a tail gate or better yet folding table for processing and you can car wash it every so often.

If you are hiking in you might spend a little to have a battery powered electric knife and a light wt packable bacteria resistant board.

I figure you guys who havent gone electric are either old and stubborn or don't catch as many as I like to at a shot
cool

I have one. Always go back to a real knife. Just seems easier to me.
