Found this the other day. Wonder how much it would cost to make. [Linked Image]

It is 78 inches tall.

Puts "spin the bottle" in a new light.

If it's all wood, that top part looks interesting to build.

That's what I was guessing. Make the slits for the slat parts, then steam it and bend it over some type of form.

At first glance, I was thinking the same (nose down bottle) but as the plastic corks seem to be more the norm these days, the position of the bottle may not be as important?? Just wondering...

Yeah plastic no problem and from what I read they are better no cork rot even screw caps are rated pretty high.

Couldn't you just replace the Cork stopper , with a Stainless Steel Wine bottle stopper? Something like this, for example.

What is the reason for storing upside down?

To keep the cork wet, making a better seal.

What does a wine bottle stopper and a walrus have in common?? They both like a tight seal. laugh

CB, what I meant (and others) by referencing the nose down bottle in order to keep the cork moist for a good seal, is for longer-term storage. Once the bottle is opened I see no reason for any stopper - just use bigger glasses!!

Doesn’t look like a gallon of Carlo Rossi “Paisano” would fit in there.

I don't know, but don't you keep those boxes in a refrigerator??
