Getting There trapper G Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 7,240 West Michigan	Be careful Walnut can be very toxic. Make sure you ware a good mask when sanding or plaining. Do not use any part of the Walnut for horse bedding. This is what I have been told by horse people. To Old U.S. Army 60-63 SGT.

People can get as excited as they want about mahogany, but it's got nothing on walnut. This one's fixin' to become a breakfast bar in the sunroom: Walnut also looks great when put in contrast with other light-colored hardwoods. Hackberry is a good candidate around here:

Probably my favorite wood to work with, especially gunstocks. The dust never bothered me but I've heard that too. Good luck with the projects. Pete
