I'm not a servicemember, but my personal opinion is that we need all the people we can get in the armed forces who are loyal to the Constitution and the country above the government. Serve well, just know where your line in the sand is and remember it.

I’m thinking about the military, maybe even trying to get into West Point. What is your opinions on joining the military even though the government of that military is becoming increasingly corrupt. Honestly? . . . think REAL HARD about it! . . . always heard Dem's will bankrupt the Country, and Rep's will have to get us in a war to to bring back the economy . . . so be be prepared to to go to war either way, even if you don't go to WP :-(

not sure how old you are , but if you don't have a conversation going with your Senator by 16 , your not to likely to be going to west point unless you get incredibly dedicated to it , tomorrow.
excellent grades , service groups you belong to , talking with your senator about a spot at west point.
there are a lot of other ways to serve and become an officer. ROTC , do you belong to a JROTC group currently , are there any in your area , Young Marines , Sea Cadets , civil air patrol?
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I’m thinking about the military, maybe even trying to get into West Point. What is your opinions on joining the military even though the government of that military is becoming increasingly corrupt. What ever branch you chose. Study that branch's history and traditions. And learn morris code. Learning these things will have you ahead of the curve. And I'd try for Warrant Officer, better than West Point officers IMO Good luck in what ever you decide

you swear an oath to obey the orders of the president. if your ok with biden as commander in chief and camel toe likely to take the job in the near future, then raise your hand and take the oath

Your oath of enlistment is to the Constitution of the United States, period. If you can't agree to that then its best not to take the oath. On that grounds alone you may refuse, and are REQUIRED TO DO SO, an unlawful order. However, you dang well better be able to prove that the order was indeed unlawful. Just following orders is not a defense.

I served as a Coast Guard Reservist for 27 years. Have fond memories of my accomplishments as the commanding officer of a small unit on the Outer Banks of NC.
Now my health insurance is free for me and my wife and I receive a monthly pension. You won’t find a stronger advocate for a military career. Go for it. An education at any of the four academies will be priceless for your future.
You do not need a Congressional recommendation to attend the Coast Guard Academy. It is competitive. If you are an outstanding student you could get accepted. I urge you to inquire.

Best thing I ever did. 17 years old, travelled all over the world, England, Germany, Italy, Panama, Honduras, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Egypt. I've been to 49 of the 50 states. Have life long friends I would literally give my life for. Retired at the ripe old age of 37. Loved being in the Air Force. Worked with all the other services, so happy I went into the AF.
