It does all my traps probably 75 to 100 traps. It's a mix of #1 to #5 longs and coils. I trap muskrats to coyotes and everything else in WI

I use it for waxed dirt. Get a bock plane and shave it up.
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Yeah I keep it in the pot I wax in and just add more as needed.
They sell wax beads I use for waxed dirt it works pretty good but I heat mine on a gas grill not in the sun.

NO you don't want any bees wax as it will impart the smell of bees and honey to your wax. Some add a small amount of rosin while most don't add anything to the paraffin. I don't add anything to mine and it works fine.

How did hobby-lobby paraffin wax work on your traps? I've read that trap wax has to be mostly bees wax and no more than 25% paraffin wax for binding purposes.... Works perfectly. Its all Ive used for many years. I dont add anything...just the pure Hobby Lobby 10 lb slab. I add more as needed. I use a metal 5 gal bucket and propane burner. Cover with lid and reuse. I change it out with fresh wax after about 3 years. $1.50/lb sure beats commercial trap wax at $3.50 + per lb.

Thanks for the tip
... I run the black wax from MTP... I like a dark trap for some reason... probably just habit
... you boil in log wood dye and wax in the black trap wax ....your traps will come out so dark you’ll worry about them stealing your car
Insert profound nonsense here
