In reality, all it does is tear out the fence, because the only 'cure' for a fence crawler is a slaughter house. Plenty of pictures on the net and they describe them as Vintage Spiked Cow Poke Neck Yoke Fence Guard or very similar description. The weaning aids are almost all attached to the nose.
