Soooo close. I doubt I'll get anywhere near that, but if I make it to 99, I dang sure want to hang on to 100.

Grandpa always said no one really wants to live to 100 until they’re 99 1/2.

You know, we poke fun at times at those sissies over there lol. But truth be told, I have always had great respect for the Queen and the Duke Prince. Closing in on the end of an era that will never be replaced. RIP Sir!!

His Naval experience saved the day for the invasion of Italy many British and Canadian soldiers own him big time.
My experience has only been for 3 times on their visits here.

I think he and his wife (the Queen) were WW2 vets; the greatest generation. Wish I could say that about our current leadership. RIP

And he was a hunter.... or I guess when you own places like Balmoral... you are more of a shooter.

A lot better man than one of his grandsons.

I never give any of those royals much thought... But sometime back when he was hospitalized I looked him up. I honestly thought that Queen Elizabeth was a widow... Philip just never got any mention.

I guess he had a habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time so they kept him under wraps as much as possible. I don't think he ever meant any harm... strikes me that he would try to crack a joke to diffuse tension and it always went sideways. Look up some of the stuff he said over the years if you want a good chuckle.

Out of that entire lot, he seemed to be the most laid back and genuine.

RIP sir.

Mike
