I was pulled over by a cop on my way to work this morning. When he approached and looked in my window I could tell he saw the grip of my 9mm handgun sticking out the top of my open briefcase which I had forgotten to close.

He asked to see my license. I told home I had a licensed weapon (which he already knew). He said, “ You’re fine, just show me your drivers license.”

I told him it was in my wallet in my briefcase next to my weapon.

He said, "You’re fine, your fine, go ahead and get it out.”

I did. He said, “The reason I stopped you is you’re out of inspection.”

I said, “No I’m not.”

He said, “I saw a three.”

I said, ”That’s my old weight class sticker.”

He looked at the front of my windshield and said, “Oh, okay, you’re good.”

I asked, “That’s it, are we done?”

He said, “Yep, have a nice day."

Cool story. Maybe my head has been in the sand, what does "” mean?

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

For some reason those numbers and symbols sometimes show up before and after quotation marks when I copy and paste from somewhere else, a text on my phone in this case, to here.

Checked on a guy on I-90 sitting on the on ramp from MI all was good but he wanted me to look at his carry permit the gun was in a case in the trunk I said no need your fine here in SD. I think he was disappointed it was not that big of deal here. I told him no duty to inform here and it’s better to not bring it up if it’s not needed we have a trooper that’s a real drama Queen around legal carry.

Here in KS if ASKED your required to inform when armed. So far I havn't been asked. I get stopped several times a year for truck checks so i guess I am not making them nervous.

No duty to inform here either Jerry. But I figured since he already had seen it I'd go ahead and tell him I had it. LOL

In all seriousness I didn't want to be reaching for my wallet/ID which was right next to the handgun without getting instructions from him first. That would have been stupid. I should have tucked the gun down into the briefcase and out of sight before he got to my door.

Same here Danny, no duty to inform but you're required to inform it if asked.

I have also interacted with LEO many times while armed and I was never asked about weapons.

One night coming back from bear hunting I got pulled over in a small town to the north of here because of a trailer light problem. I had 2 loaded handguns laying on the front seat in view. As soon as he came to the window I informed him I was a CC holder and I had 2 loaded handguns on the seat, which he had already seen. He asked for my license and I volunteered my CC card and I was surprised when he said "Nah, I don't have to see that." I told him I had been on some pretty rough roads and would take care of the lights when I got home and he was fine with that. Nice guy.

About 2 months ago I was on 2 lane state highway, saw a trooper headed my way before he got to me turned on lights. I saw him turn around so I pulled over, he came to passenger window and said you were going 68 in 65 speed limit. So I had a 9mm in the console, wasn't sure if I should tell him or not I decided not to got a warning ticket, he just said slow it down. I was sitting there thinking while he checked my license man l hope he don't give me a ticket.

This guy was excited if he’s keeping it it tucked away in a box I’m ok with that but this might of been his first chance to show his permit he almost insisted I look at it, just no big deal here.

Getting pulled over for 68 in a 65 . . . is a joke.

In PA, when the cops run your license number, your concealed carry license also appears on the screen. Probably makes them feel better knowing you have been vetted by the Sheriff's Office to carry. Exception DE & MD. when crossing state lines will drop my magazine and pipe round and keep empty. ( I live close to MD & DE and travel a bit) NJ is a NO NO, softball bat with glove are with me in the anti - carry states.

One of my brothers in law is a Missouri State Trooper. When the wife and I got our carry permits I asked him how he handled stops when someone volunteered that they have a permit and a weapon in the car. He said I just tell them thanks, you leave yours where it is, and I'll do the same
