Ok I have figured out why this nation is going to the dogs. The younger generation and cancel culture have too much time on their hands,. They sit in mommas basement on the computer and surf things to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) about. If they had to get out and work a JOB or chores on a farm this crap wouldn't be happening. Gov has allowed them to sit in the house and draw a check or make money by clicking a mouse that common sense is disappearing !!!

I think the last presidential election answered that question.

I know to many that are just the opposite of what you describe, seems like a lot of posters on this site put a lot of folks into a category without thinking things through. I guess thats what a lot of folks might do with trappers, we are all just a bunch of lazy fat guys, big beards that hang a quarter of deer from a tree to catch a possum.

I don't think people are tired enough at bedtime, for whatever reason.

My comment was directed more towards blaming the younger generation. Seems like everyone hits a certain age and begins saying the younger people don’t have it as hard as they did and don’t have the work ethic that they had either.
You said they sit in mommas basement on the computer. Maybe momma is the problem. She might even be your age! Your generation!

I am a millennial but I was raised conservative. Taught if you want anything out of life you work you butt off to get it. People that are too lazy to work are a parasite. I don’t know many others my age that can hold up to me with physical work. I had a new guy that works with us say he would put me up against two mexicans with shovels any day. It does make me sick that we can’t find any help that will last long. They are either too lazy or strung out on drugs. I have three kids to feed so I can’t afford to be lazy.

JP and Sprung & Rusty have good points. I don't have kids but I work with people that do and I'd like to slap them at times with how they've coddled their kids and grandkids. Then they wonder why the country is going to crap. Amazingly many find flaws with other lazy youngsters but think their own are awesome and some sort of go getter. The only thing a lot of them go and get is more food from the fridge or the latest video game at Wal Mart.
Yes I brought up grand kids too as at my age (almost 50) my co workers have those too. It doesn't help when grandpa and grandma buy them everything under the sun and or hand them money just for showing up at their house.

I work a full time job, and run a a.d.c. business on the side.
Pay my fair share of taxes, but got a bunch of family that are suctions on
Society.
But I guess at least I know where the taxes money goes.
Remember everyone "WORK HARDER millions on welfare depend on US."

She could be jurass. But Not my thinking. I'm 58 . Got one son 32 that works 6 days a week for terminix. Inspection and sales. We live in a small town and he covers eastern Ky . Kid is number 2 in the NATION in sales made . That's going up against hundreds in large cities. Why is he like that . First he was shown nothing is free. I didn't buy him a car because no one bought me one. I agreed to sign a note for him just like my dad me. If he was struggling because of un forseen expenses (transmission went out) yes I pitched in. Kid paid me back. He has 2 beautiful daughters and when it comes time Papaw won't buy them a car (nanny might tho) . It does start with the parents and it has to start young. Just like welfare and moochers once they figure out they can survive on the easy path they have no reason to change....
Thus if they are sitting around they look for stuff to stir.

If that comment is at me you’re way off!

I’ve been grinding stumps the last 4 days. My body is absolutely worn right out! Tomorrow (Saturday) I’ll grind about 30 more then I’m caught up from everything I cut last year.
Then I’m going to rake all the mulch over the pit and count every one. I’m guessing it will be close to 300 stumps!

Not many little girls can do that!! Most likely not you either!

Not much of a weekend for me.

I got home at 7pm today, ate supper, cut my own hair, shaved my chest, took a shower, gelled my hair and finally relaxing on the couch talking to some grumpy guys on the internet. Lookin’ good, feelin’ good! Don’t ask for a selfie, sicko!

Chances are I would think you’re not much of a man if you stood next to me.

Maybe the younger city kids, but I can assure you I don’t know any rural kids that fit the profile, my own included. All work. All pay for their own fun. 2 own their own homes, and yes these are actual houses and not on wheels. One is married with a baby on the way and baby momma works as well. The young man remodeling my bathroom graduated with my son and owns his own company. I know another 23 year old that makes low 6 figures but not quite half a million with his own company. All vote. All pay their taxes. All work 40+ hours a week, including baby momma. All are conservative Republicans and proud of it. About the only part right is they all can run a computer like no bodies business.

I’m 25. Learned how to work at a young age. I started commercial fishing at age 13 because if I was home during the summer my parents would put me to work for free. I reinvested all my earnings from fishing throughout high school. By the time I graduated I was able to buy a newer truck to build credit and after two years I was able to buy a house. Before I could legally drink I owned my truck, boat, four wheeler, snow machine, and have a comfortable home that took a lot of fixing up. Finished the IBEW apprenticeship program and am a licensed electrician about to start a new apprenticeship to become a linemen. Lots of opportunities out there if a person looks up off their phone to see the big picture.
I can only thank my parents and a few mentors along the way. Most of my former classmates from HS are still living at home, blaming the system, blaming poor credit, blaming high rent and low paying jobs.. If you don’t like how much minimum wage is than apply yourself to be more than minimum.
