Dana I OP trapper D Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 917 Perry, NY	Of course happy cows come from NY. There is not enough grass to feed them yet. They are still mostly on stored feed with just a little grass. This is my boss's herd. I manage the pastures and feed there. We calve seasonally and are in the midst of it now. Will be milking about 800 head at our peak. We raise all the calves so with young stock, milkers, bulls and replacements we will be pushing 2000 head though the summer. Rotating on approximately 1400 acres of pasture. My personal farm is much smaller but my land is very similar to what you see in the pictures. I have a few head of beef and a good bunch of hogs.
