Hey guys, I was recently given an old trap and have no idea what it is. It believe it’s a 280 sized trap, and it has the same jaw design as a belisle. It has the old wire dog, and strange springs. If my measurements are correct, it has an 8.5 x 9 inch jaw spread. I’m puzzled. Anyone have any idea? Thanks!!!

I agree. That style dog is unique to Montgomery traps.

If you look at the top of the clamp that holds the trigger wire, it should be stamped MTI. Montgomery Traps, Inc.

These other two are correct of course. Drill out that rivet, replace the wire and put a small bolt and nut in place of the old rivet and you'll have a good trap, ready to roll.
