Make real sure they bury that waterline good. Even though freezing isn't much down here the rains washing away the cover dirt will expose them to get run over. I been fighting about 3/4 mile of waterline since been here. Been replacing with PEX as reworking the driveway.

You could use a 55 gallon black drum with solar heat with a weed burner for back up but I’m lazy that way. LOL

I have same H2O heater in my house except it is natural gas. The snap switch just ignites the pilot which in turn sends a small electric current to the gas valve which allows the valve to open and burn until water is at set temperature. If the pilot goes out the lack of current shuts off gas valve. A safety feature. How do you get water if you don't have electricity? You do NOT want to run a gas or any water heater low on water because you will create hydrogen gas inside and you will potentially have a rocket shooting out through you roof or some other explosion.

Small home town water board has a 18 dollar min, and will allow me to pay 1 year in advance . SO For a 250 dollar check I should have water needs out of the way

We have propane at the cabin. The tank is in a closet where all the plumbing is so just keeping it lit in the cold months keeps things from freezing.

The very first on demand water heater I ever saw was in the early 70s. It had a pilot light and no electricity was required. Ran on propane.

Can you run the line yourself and let the water provider do the tap in? If so I think you can run 1" from the meter at least 3/4 of the way then drop down to 3/4" to the cabin. If it's not too rocky rent a trencher or get a friend with a middle buster to cut you a trench. It should work fine and be way under 3 grand. Go with a conventional propane water heater and you'll be fine.

Sounds good to me . Thanks for all the answers . I just know nothing about water heaters. That part I will leave to a plumer . I just want a good 6 ft shower and a toilet so powerful that it will flush a cat. LOL!

Yes . New meter is about 800 dollar, they say. Have family that own = Ditch Witch . SO pipe ,labor, and 800 dollars to water board will be about 3000 dollar is my quess? Hope i am wrong and it cost less. BUT it seems since I have been doing everything myself its costing me more than I had figured. MAYBe thats the problem LOL!

Found PEX tube and fittings online a lot cheaper then Lowes or Home Depot. The septic tank set up will cost more then all the rest of the deal.
