I use black speed dip and premium grade gas and have for decades. I put the lid back on the bucket and add some more gas every year. It does not make a difference if they are sticky when you set them in the water. I use rustoleum primer and acetone on my conibears. LLL

Why would you want to handle sticky traps??? Might not be bad if you set 1 or 2 but a day of handling them would sure be heck.

They are tacky at best. I wear gauntlets. I never handle 1 or 2 and it truly is not an issue. If you dip them while it is hot and let them dry for a week or two they are never even tacky. A coon will scratch it all off in the first catch except for inside the springs where you want it anyway. LLL

I'm with LL and ADC, skip the white gas and use gasoline.

They sell gas non oxygenated gas about anywhere. It doesn't have ethanol in it.
