I do pest work and one of my customers, an elderly lady 88yrs. old was getting things together for a yard sale. She questioned me on a few items such as older gun cleaning kits, old brass of different calibers. One of the items had a sticker on it for a $1.50, It was a Rhodes turkey call still in its original box with the instruction pamphlet. I believe the man that marketed this call was from McCalisterville,PA. I told her to hold off on that sometimes vintage calls in great shape can bring a couple bucks or maybe not. Can any of you guys help me out?

No clue but it’s worth checking out just type in the name some page will pop up if it’s a popular old call.

Looks like $25 to $50 dollars from what I looked at.

Little scratch boxes like that can be very effective once you get good with them. I used to make a smaller one patterned after those made by Turkey George Murray, one of the first callmakers in CA. No doubt he was from the east coast to start.

They are small and fit in a shirt pocket. One of mine took second place at the NWTF competition in 2006 or so.

Good luck with it.

Pete
