I believe i found a good deal today. came across an old Win 72a. Shoots shorts, longs and long rifle. Needs a good cleaning. Don't know much about them. Was looking for rifle to shoot shorts. I paid $200.00.

Looking for info and feedback if you got one or had one. All I know is it has scope rails and no serial number. Sarge

I've had a 72a for over 20 years. It's a good solid rifle. You didn't go wrong.
It was made around the 30s to 40s.

Amazing thing is that gun sold for 19.99 new !!! If we only knew we all would be millionaires. Certain models / design releases of that model are worth 10's of thousands of dollars . Do a little research you may hit the lotto...

How much is an original Winchester worth?

Factory Engraved Winchester

It is all original, as completed by the Winchester factory about 100 years ago. It has very nice engraving, fancy deluxe style wood, and most of the original blue finish. As a result it is worth $39,000

That did cross my mind. Oh No! There goes my future rabbit and squirrel rifle and the ever dreaded .22 short.
