We have seriously took up ramp selling this season.

So far we have sold 756 dozen for $3 a dozen

And 187 pounds for 4.75 a pound.

We have made 3016.00 over the last 15 days.

I have people messaging me constantly asking for them.

We dig in the morn clean them.in the afternoon and sell them the next morning in our local town
Qe wash but leave the roots on.

Its hard work but dang good money.

Any of y'all digging them? And if ya are hoq do you market them?

A dozen is about all I can tolerate a year! Few of those and a few Bud Light make excellent wife repellant and almost guarantee a couple nights of sleeping alone. I'm concentrating more on mushrooms this time of year.

Trash your goals and plans for life. Just wing it and you'll never be let down!

I dig and give plenty away, but don't sell them. The turkey and leek seasons mesh nicely here

I would love to do what you are doing dig and sell some of them.. Sounds interesting..
I have just a few started in my yard not even big enough patch yet that I will dig them for my self.. Only big patches I know of here are on state land. We are not allowed to dig them on state land so that is off limits.
I have one small patch on farm I hunt on I usually dig just enough for couple meals..It also where I got the one to start the patch in my yard probably ten years ago?. One in my yard have just come up and made leaves in last this last week..
Plan to go to farm in next few days scout turkeys and dig a few ramps for meal.

I was also in the dark about the things but a trapping buddy in Michigan filed me in. Apparently a sought after wild leek that tastes like fresh garlic.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Strong flavor of onion/garlic, first time I had them a neighbor put some in soup she was making, really good. Wife made chili and put in a hand-full, and although tasty, just couldn't get down more than a spoon full.

Dig ramps my whole life. Up and good here after the last warm spell. Nobody here would buy them they grow in lots of places and are free for the digging. Potatoe ramp and ham soup is one of the wife's favorites

You got it made having people pay for them, especially with the roots on. Taking the roots off and peeling the outer dirty layer is what takes alot of time. Seems like alot per dozen but if people are willing to pay it great. Congrats and have a nice day

Hey Catheryn, you dont happen to be selling them in Ripley? There is a pick up with same green sign and same price sitting across from NAPA.
I have a decent patch, nothing like the picture above.

Around here you can get about $1/pound with the leaves removed. $2/pound cleaned.

I usually clean them up and replant the roots.
