Yep, like Fool said. Make it in an already frozen trail. I haven't had much luck with it; if I get any fresh snow and drive over it again it still gets packed and frozen in. With no fresh snow and consistent cold it'll keep working . Thats my limited experience.
Boco couldn't catch a cold. But if he did, it would be Top Lot.

Muskrat is your trail not frozen hard? Once a trail sets up I can recess the trap so it doesn't spring. But I only have like 1" paddles I think. Yes you could also pull your sled over it by hand to blend it in.

The wolf set from the ATA manual where the wolf trap is set then the trapper runs over it with snowmobile. That sounds like a great set but when I try it the paddei always digs the trap out and springs it. Is that set only good for old timer snowmobiles? Does it throw the trap in your sled with all the snow?
Who is John Galt?

I ordered the new ATA manual I'm readying it now. Next year I will try that trail trick for wolves.
