When I cut timber for a living, my wife would send me to work with 4 pieces of salted buttered bread. I’d find a leek patch and slice them and make two sandwiches for lunch.

We wash them but keep the roots because alot of people buy them to replant.

Theyre everywhere in wv too but people just want to buy them instead of digging them themselves

We have been surprised by the number of customers we've had and not one person has bulked at the price

If you dehydrate the leaves then run them through the blender,,It makes a fantastic seasoning. We do that every season.Just a thought maybe to add something to your sales? smile We also pickle a bunch of leeks.

To date we have sold. 7288.00 worth of ramps.

Over 1000 dozen along the road and the other money was from ramps sold by thw pound to one buyer .

I wouldn't believe it except we've done it

Be careful, you can overharvest them. We usually take appro. 10% out of a patch.

We arw careful not to overharvest..

We are fortunate that we have several locations where we are able to dig.

Many of them have ramps as far as you can see

That's awesome. I too have many places to dig em'. Too big and mild for my liking now. Vacuum sealed some packs and sweet pickled a quart jar. Till next year for me now

We clean them..leave roots on..dirt off for sell by the dozen where we set up along the road.

By the pound we just dig and shake the excess dirt off.

Jerry dug 195 lbs in one day.we get 4.75 a pound or 3 a dozen
