Nessmuck trapper N Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 23,617 New Hampshire	A little trick we did with the water container.....we put some rocks in where they drink out of...instead of it getting full of shavings...they have some pockets of water...until you clean it It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

k snow OP trapper K Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 6,407 east central WI	Picked them up at a local co-op. From a hatchery an hour or so away. I use the rocks when I put the bigger water font in. Helps keep the water clean and the chicks from drowning (I guess).

When we were done lambing....we had 9 lambs total...7 were Rams ...Not Good ...lol ...ewes are what everyone wants for their flock. But they still taste good ! k snow OP trapper K Joined: Oct 2009 Posts: 6,407 east central WI	I am hoping for 12-18 hens. We won't keep more than 18 hens. 30 degrees last night, the little guys are doing fine this morning. The insulated coop is nice. Pretty warm inside with 2 heat lamps running.

I hang mine by chains and high enough that the birds can drink but cannot get in the waterer. I have my feeders off the ground also. I keep moving them up higher as the birds grow. It really helps when raising meat birds because it makes them have to stretch their legs to eat or drink. LLL Isaiah 51:6 But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.

LLL Thanks. I used 4 inch PVC pipe to move the coop, so I have four 5 foot lengths of it. Was thinking waterer or feeder with them. Maybe I'll make an outdoor waterer, for the warmer months.
