Bought the wife a easel, a bunch of paints, oil, acrylic and water colors for Christmas. Seems she has really taken to the watercolors so far more than the rest. She has been learning off of youtube videos and has done a couple on her own. These are all water color paintings I think she is doing really well. Obviously she has great taste in husbands. However in addition she has some talent in painting! Who knew! grin

Finster, the heck with trapping. You need to be a gallery owner!

And I can’t even make a connect the dots page look good!

She has some serious talent. Rent her a space in a store and get to selling! Early retirement for you, lol.

Very nice ! The more she paints, the more her own style will appear. This is a great start.

She can also get a very good "water colour" like similarity by watering down acrylics. Those are water based, unlike oils , and easily conform to that style also. Plus they can be applied thick and coat bright , or gone back over a former coating to correct mistakes, etc. Acrylics and water colours can also be combined.

Wait till she tries the world of coloured pencils ! Fast , and blend like paints ...but much faster in time.

All fun , is the main point.

Definitely a talented lady!
I liked them all, but the barn was my favorite too.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

However, hate to say it, your talent for maintaining the outbuildings around your place could use some serious improvement man! grin

The purple was lavender. And if the Finster is planting lavender around he might just have to turn in his man card.

The hummingbird one is exactly the type of painting my grandmother would have in her house. She loved hummingbirds. She's been gone for a while, thanks for the good memories.

She may be learning some tips from YouTube videos, but obviously she has natural talent that can't be learned from videos!

Is this painting gig taking the pressure off you for not vacuuming often enough and incorrectly the scarce times which you actually do it?
A friend wants to know.

C'mon man! Those look like more than just talent. How long she been painting. Appears to be some experience and maybe some prior instruction.
At any rate the paintings are awesome.

Finster,
Your wife is very talented and these are very nice indeed. No paintings of you in the fur shed yet?

Blessings,
Mark

You're wife is quite talented but does it make up for her taste in men? whistle
