I've had JD's, Husler, Huskys and both gas and diesel Kubotas. Kubotas are the most reliable and issue free that I've found. :-)

How big a yard? Engine manufacturers? Level yard or good hills? I've got hills so I went with a cub zero turn w/steering wheel. LOve it. It has the Kawasaki engine. Dealer close by as well. Also get a stout deck. One of the best rated when I was lookming was the Bad Boy and Ariens.

what to look for when buying one? was looking at a simplicity, since the dealer is close by. Dealer support is important. I bought a Snapper 3 years ago because I have a local dealer. It is a great mower. Simplicity has been around for a long time and I've never heard much bad about them.

Have an older ex mark 56 in deck and a newer grasshopper 52, ex mark has a wider stance and bigger tires, better on hills and ditches, both are great mowers, but as said above, parts availability and dealer service close by is key on whatever you choose. Good luck

Got a big commercial kioti to do our 3 acres, really nice machine. Most comfortable adjustable seat around. Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
