I just got a beaver back from the tannery and I'm going to hoop it on willow. The beaver has some wrinkles in it and I've heard some guys block them to take the wrinkle out. Can anyone explain that to me or know of a youtube video?

Does anyone know someone who would hoop a beaver here in Lower Michigan? Its frozen, not scraped.

I'm asking for a friend. Thanks

Same here on the wrinkles in the commercially tanned hide. Wet the skin side several times, but not sloppy wet though. Then put one hand down in the middle of the back and stretch each side out but not too forcibly. It helps to stretch/pull the skin more toward the head to get rid of the wrinkles on the lower half of the hide. Then tack it out on your oval beaver board and let it completely dry for a few days. I just did two and they dried out with no wrinkles. BTW I got this info from a Trapperman follower when I made the same inquiry a month or so ago.
