I think they have been protesting. I heard they was saying the girl was so peaceful as she was trying to stab people. No riots in southern Ohio though.

If I were an Officer at this point, when called to a violent scene, I would stand back and say "Let me call a Social Services representative to this scene and let them resolve the issue!!

What on earth was that officer thinking to interrupt a mostly peaceful stabbing. Did he not see that the knife wielding female was black??

Saw the video of this one and have questions as to what is the proper etiquette these days for a police officer who interrupts a good stabbing?

Should they........

A. Stand around and let the stabbing continue........(assume LEO would get in trouble for that, so probably not a good answer)

B. Wade into stabber bare handed.......and take a chance on getting stabbed too?

C. Taser/Pepper spray stabber and hope to disarm and subdue them if it works?

(Both B and C assume it was a small girl......so maybe not the same risk threat it would be if a large male stabber)

D. Pull your weapon and shoot the stabber? (latter is what happened.....and source of controversy).

if you watch the video , knife woman had just chased shorts woman at the officer trying t stab her with a knife , then turns and goes after pink tracksuit woman pushing her up against the car and arm was back with knife getting ready to stab pink track suit woman in the neck or chest

officer shot knife woman while her arm was back ready to start into the forward stab.

didn't see it till the slow motion the guy kicks shorts girl in the head as cop is yelling at the knife woman to stop as she tries to stab the pink track suit woman

it was black on black violence and a white cop shot a person actively trying to stab another with a knife

they are yelling she was just a kid

sorry , kids are 4 feet tall and under 100 pounds at 16 when your bigger than many adults your parents failed you if they didn't explain that for all purposes other than buying things and paper work you look like an adult , so you need to act like an adult and take on most of the responsibility of an adult as far as your actions you can't be a 6 foot tall 250 pound 14 year old throwing a tantrum , no one is asking you to sign legal documents or medical documents yet but your in your mid teens you have a level of expectation to your responsibility.

one of my neighbors I think he is 13 , at a glance he looks 18 when he was 8 he looked 12 nice kid big kid, his uncle and I talk he is also a neighbor, when you are a big kid you have to be told by your family that cars for you that you need to be more careful how you act you may be playing with another 8 year old but if you look twice his size , well there are some things you don't want to do like play fighting even if it is harmless wrestling in the grass.

when my son was about 8 we had to work on STOP , I would yell stop and he was going to stop when he was done doing what he was doing. no when I yell stop it is for a reason and you need to freeze right now. it took him some work but he got it , STOP means STOP now.

if you are not having the conversations like STOP means STOP now with your kids you are failing them.

everyone needs to be explaining to their kids when officers arrive they are going to yell stop and if you don't stop you are very likely to get shot , you might even be defending yourself in a fight but they only see what they saw in those first seconds use their presence to break contact and make space they don't shoot you for running away with your hands up they might come tackle you but probably not before they tell you to stop and give you some opportunity to stop running,

A. totally acceptable answer under the law, has been tried several times in court Officers have no duty to protect , this guy may get screwed for trying to protect , he shouldn't , the actions of the stabber caused the result.

2 officers on a subway , saw a stabbing happening from the other side of a door , waited till stabber stopped and fled then entered the now safe scene to render aid , stabbing victims family tried to sue , court ruled the officers do not have to step into harm to protect you. their duty is to serve and protect the city and not necessarily the individual citizen. most cops see it as their duty to help people , more and more are likely to be persuaded not to help.

this was not a small girl 16 adult height and greater than 200 pounds if you were recruiting for the all girls football team , she would be a candidate for linewoman

The officer should have pulled his side arm, shot the thumb off of the knife hand then ran and cuffed her.

Had almost the same scenario happen here the other day. Teenage black male with a knife in a house he had just moved out of. Neighbors called police for someone in an empty house. Police show up young man comes out knife in hand. Officer is black and repeatedly begs him to drop the knife, is heard on bodycam saying I'm black , you're black, no one needs to die today. This goes on for several minutes then the kid charges the officers knife raised. Shots fired kid runs off. SWAT called. Kid later found back inside the house dead.

your officer gave him every opportunity and that is all you can do , bet that never makes the news , that your guy tried so hard not to.

E. Call it in to social services and continue on your route to dunkin donuts.

Police Officers unfortunately need to call a Social Services Representative (what the Progressives are calling for) when they arrive at a scene and let them resolve the problem.

Once that situation plays out several times in catastrophe, maybe the Police can get back to "Protect and Service" like they have for so many years admirably!

In the future officers should stand down and call for the democrat mayors, police cheifs, blm reps and other sjw reps to go in a defuse the situation.

Then call in the hazmat team to clean up the carnage.

people may be calling for social services to come but , social services wants everyone disarmed before they show up with their police escort.

When there is a riot,the cops should show up with several paddy wagons full of attack dogs and turn them loose on the crowd.
That is how the bobbies brake up the huge soccer riots in england.
When the perps show up later at the hospital for dog bite stitches the cops go in and arrest them in the hospital.
