Beside blindsetting den entrances what are some good sets to take groundhogs with footholds? I'll be using duke1.5s, mb 450s, and victor 1.5 longsprings, I have caught piles of them in conibears and cages, but I want to experiment this year?

They don’t often travel far from the den. Some dens have trails leading to water or feeding areas, maybe blind sets along those trails. Not much different of course.

Dont set right at the den unless you want to do some shovel work. Used to trap ghogs on my grandfathers farm this way years ago and its not the best way to do things in my experience. Especially in heavy clay soil that we have.

I have caught them at the den entrance with 1 1/2 LS.
Set trap bedded in dirt right at the hole.Stake the trap so the groundhog cant get back down the hole when trapped.
I never tried it but I bet you could use a 1 way slide to get him further from the hole if you want to play around but probably not necessary.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I caught a bunch of them in 1.5s and 11s at dirholes and hawbakers coon lure. No clue why they are attracted to it but it worked great.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
