The fine print at the bottom of the sale report says averages are for sundry owner section 1 goods.

No dealer lots. No section 3 goods.

Auction reports have been done this way for a long, long, long, long time. NAFA did the same thing.

I went to the FHA site and there is a catalog showing all the sold fur. Price and grade, lot number.

My buddy sold $7000.00 worth of coyotes at $60 each in the round. They were Montana high line coyotes

If the auction reports included dealer lots, it would lower the percent sold, some times by a big amount.. Dealer lots often have high limits and thus do not sell, especially in a wishy washy market like we have now. By including dealer lots with high limits, you would get get an accurate picture of the sale.

Section III goods is a different matter.

Why would dealers have higher limits? You can only get the going rate. Just sell for the going rate and say how furbuying is my passion and then talk about how it is just like fishing and hunting and they lose money at this too. smile

Dealers put limits on their own lots to protect their investment. They know what they paid for the goods and don’t want to lose money.

Some times they don’t really care what the market is. They want to make a certain present profit. They have business expenses to cover.
