Killed this one last week!

Heading to Maryland in a couple weeks to hopefully get a couple more.

Anyone else killing turkeys?

Called one in from 400ish yards and he got hung up 100 yards away.. I could see him, but he wouldn't come any further. I'm still learning though.

Yes, been a real good season so far. Plenty of birds and they work. My son did his first “guiding” gig this morning and got his client two birds and he could’ve went ahead and limited out. Think he had six total come in.
We head West to NM in a couple of weeks to chase Merriam’s and also booking a trip to Mexico for next April to chase Gould’s again.

Killed my first with a bow Sunday, scored 69.25 It was an amazing hunt, had a bunch of birds around me and one on the roost about 60 yards away. There were 4 birds on the ground below him before he flew down. I was going to kill first bird with a beard, had a couple jakes on my left but never got a shot. One of the four made its way toward me and I shot it at 18 yards. Heard the thwap and it run off. After it run off another bird took off after him, then all the rest took off after him, I could hear them kicking it's dead as. When I went to collect it the other birds finally saw me and run off. I used a 3' high x 20' long piece of burlap for my blind.

My first with a shotgun had the white in it's tail feathers as well, weird.
