Has anyone read the story of the Fromme brothers? From Silver fox, to Ginseng, then mink and auctioning this is a story of hardships and success, of disease and research and partnerships and fashion. A friend of mine Hern gave me the book to read- It sure opened my eyes. Have you heard of their operation?

I just know they were pioneers in the fur ranch trade. Seen a few articles on the history. Very interesting stuff.

When I was a kid in the late 50s my Dad sold them beaver carcasses for their fox and mink. We buried the gutted carcasses in snow banks and they would come by a couple of times in the spring and pick them up. One year they gave us a tour of their place.

Many years ago there was a story about them in The Trapper magazine. I toured their operation several years ago. They are out of business of course but they still have tours of the historical operation. It's worth the price of admission if you are ever in WI

Read the book multiple times pre 1969, one of my favorites in the school library, learned alot about the orgins of silver fox breeding stock and the development of 1/4 1/2 3/4 and full silver pelts, a great book, i really like the photos. Not all silver fox were created equal.
