Hey folks, I was wondering who using floating row covers for their cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, etc? Are they worth the effort? I have (2) 50' rows of cole crops our now, and before I go all out waging war on pest, I figured I'd ask to see if the covers are worth it. I have not seen any sign of pest yet, but they will show up soon-they always do! I know BT (Bacillus thuringiensis) is great for cole crops. And even though it's organic, I try to limit the amount of products sprayed/dusted on my garden.

I ran some. They lasted three seasons with care. The yields were less but the cabbage moth cats were zero.
And it made weeding difficult. My soil is not well drained and is difficult with cabbage moths.

Bt is the ticket. No chemicals as previously stated.

So, I've been looking into more of them here lately. Are there any recommendations for a cover that is better than others?
