Unless my phone is distorting the pics, thats not milkweed. Not dogbane either, which can be confused with milk weed.

Correct.
Definitively ***Not*** Common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) nor Common Dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum).

Leaves are lanceolate, glabrous and look to be sinuate, alternate. Could be hundreds of species.

Better pics (clearer, closer, showing top and bottom of leaf, growth pattern of entire plant from side (and top), etc) would be helpful.

Could be phlox. Colorful plant. I have a couple clumps in the landscaping on the south side of my house. They get about 2 1/2 feet with a bright pink bloom.
