It wasn't a pyracantha bush was it? If so, it looks like the thorns went deep. "Pyracantha is Latin for "Fire Thorn". They will cause what your wife is experiencing. They have an irritant which really lights you up. Combine that with multiple, deep puncture wounds and your tissue tends to freak out. I am praying that it is the thorn and not from the cat.

She was probably allergic to that Bush and it's a allergic reaction. i seriously doubt that. Cat bites and scratches are nasty and can easily kill you. My wife works at the hospital and a couple times a year they always get usually a lady that got stratched or nipped by a cat and its always bad business. Those pics look serious. I have had MRSA a couple times a long time ago back in basic training. it looks similar in the beginning.

My wife was bitten by a stray cat that she foolishly picked up. She got a nasty infection, had to undergo rabies shots, and took lots of antibiotics. She's fine, but it was touch and go for a while. Hopefully, everything will go well for your wife and she makes a quick recovery. Prayers sent.

Glad she is doing better. Jim
