Yep..I'm looking for 4-5 game cameras. I haven't ever used a game camera...SO...I see a lot of T-Man members using cameras and posting. I have somewhat read about them and all of the different things they can do and it gets numbing to me.I will be using them on public land and figure to get some ripped off..So I'm not looking for high end cameras..I will be back in a couple days from the woods to look at this thread..Any suggestion is greatly appreciated..and thanks in advance..

I can catch them here...I can catch them ANYWHERE

We run tacticam reveal. They are cell enabled and won't break the bank. I think we paid $100 each for them. They take great pictures.

Won't make a camera recommendation just because I haven't found one I'm in love with.

I will however offer a suggestion on how to help keep them secure. I have tree climbing equipment that's pretty lightweight so if I hang cameras in areas I don't have sole access to, I climb 10-15 feet and position the camera. Has a side benefit of getting the camera out of the eyeliner of the critters.

Kids got me a browning dark ops extreme with infrared for Christmas. I use it to see what visits on a pile of corn and an old deer food block i put in corner of our property.
Been a fun way to watch wildlife. Takes nice color pics by day, and decent night pics too.
It is pretty simple to use. Batteries last a long time and through pretty extreme weather. Still took pics at -34 one morning. May not be best model but ive been really happy with it. I just use a couple SD cards I swap them out to see what visited recently.

Recent pics...camera closer to food pile...

January pics...camera farther from food pile. Still picked movement up from about 60 paces or so. Fox and bobcat visitors...

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I have about ten cameras out on my remote property north of Duluth Mn year around. Some are cheapies at $50.00 and I think the most expensive are less than $120.00. I use lithium batteries AA and get average of about 9 months usage and that's through a winter. If you are using them on public property I would only use the ones that the flash cannot be detected by humans. The other thing to compare is speed of camera which is the time of detection to actual time of picture. Cheap cameras mean loss of picture due to critter walking out of frame before picture is taken. I have one Moultrie that is about 12 years old and still works like a champ, three other Moultries that are the newer black ops type with no visible flash and other cheap menards types that have lasted years. Whenever I replace them I will only get non visible flash and speed of .5 sec or so. I have pics of wolves, Bobcats, Fisher, Marten, Eagles, Moose, Weasels, Bears, and a very small amount of Deer due to the excessive number of Wolves. If you wanted to spend the time you could engrave your name in the plastic case so the friends of the scumbag that stole your camera would know whose it was. I haven't had any stolen but have had the bumped around by bears.

Go on Amazon and order a 4 pack or 10 pack Browning kits. You won't be disappointed. I usually order a 4 pack each time with SD cards and Bear boxes. My family is running more than 30 cameras and we have al weeded out the other brands. Battery life is real good and they are durable. Cold weather from Dec. 22nd to May 1st I had 24000 pics on one camera and the batteries seemed to die on or about April 22nd. One I have behind the house on a fox den will have all of that when I finally pull it and its been sitting since Feb. 1st

I have had moultrie, tasco and wildgame innovations. Wildgame innovations last much, much longer and you can usually pick them up for around $40-45. Tasco failed miserably and the moultries were mixed. Some lasted a year, a couple maybe 2, but no longer than that.

I have had some of the wildgame go 6 years.

Look on amazon, i found some last year models on sale there. I think it was a 5 pack for 200 bucks. all wildgame innovations blackout cams. I tried moultrie cams and feeders and hate all of them. The cams dont trip on small game like fox and such that i want to see. The moultrie feeders, all the spinner motors died within a year. My best luck has been with wildgame stuff over the years for price vs performance. pics are A+

Ive had worst experience with Stealth cameras and have had several different models....still got em...they just dont work anymore. I will NOT buy another Stealth.

For the $$: Wildgame has been pretty good. Only have 1, and its going on 4 years and still no problems. I'd buy more.

Got a 4-pack of Muddys about 6 months ago. $170 for 4 cameras. So far I'm pleased. Good trigger speed. Nice clear daytime color pics. Decent b&w nightime pics. Good battery life.

I have 1 Spartan wireless. Its 3 years old and has taken 10 thousand pics. Its linked to Verizon. No problems at all..yet. It's been in the woods since day 1. Spartan is a little $$ at $240. More now.

Im about to purchase a Tactacam Reveal soon. It'll be a Verizon wireless. Have heard good stuff about em and only $119.

X2 on this. Day pics. are a bit darker then I like (contrast) but nice and ir night video is great. I make my own cams but decided to compare it with a cheap one. So far it looks like it isn't one of the cheap one year and toss cam.

I’ve never got a second year out of the two wild game camera that I’ve had . My son has had one for three years with no issues. The only moultry camera that I’ve had go bad went under water. Same with the stealth and the 2 Browning’s I’ve got , I buy whatever batteries that are on sale and get about 9 months out of them . I would bet they are all made in the same factory in China.

By the way the hardest to use and the most trouble I’ve had with a camera was the cuddy back . Very finicky about what cards you use .

I bought 3 stealth cameras and have had no luck with them. 2 of them kill SD cards after a few months and the other will take a pic every 20 seconds til the batteries are dead. All less than 18 months old.

Have read elsewhere that they do NOT tolerate cold temps well.

if you have good cell service where you plan on putting them, you can get spypoint micro cell cameras for $100 a piece. Very much worth it to have pics sent to your phone. They are also worthless to thieves as they can’t use them without a password. They might get stolen or destroyed by someone still but at least they don’t get a free trail cam.

I prefer my moultrie over my stealth cam. Wasn't impressed by wild games cameras years ago

I've tried most every brand over the years. Except the ultra expensive reconyx. Settled on dark ops models by Browning. Seem to be very reliable with long battery life sometimes its hard to believe that batteries will last for several months....Cheap enough. Got a 5 year old model that still works as good as ever. Excellent day pics, average night pics. Good enough for most uses. They appear to be a coyote when it comes to photo cards. Never a problem there. That being said, decent cards are important and cheap.

Whatever you do get the quickest trigger speed you can cause it gets old looking at 1\2 of a deer, coyote or bobcat. Trigger speed allows you to set camera perpendicular to trail which helps minimize theft. Usually I set them on a 3photo burst or video.

I may try tactacam this year, but good cel signal can be difficult here.

Ived tried about different brands for deer and testing lures on coyotes . Browning dark opps is the only one I've found to be reliable on coyotes. Wildgame I thought was good until I realized how unreliable the trigger was. It was missing a lot of action especially on coyotes

Got a Bushnell Trophy. Sick and tired of it! In fact, I've simply stopped bothering to put it out now. It decides when it feels like activating and when it doesn't.

Takes great film and pix, when It has a mind to. But, it's just soul destroying to watch a fox, juggling chain saws, right outside your gate. Thinking; " OMG!!! And I'm getting all this on my trail cam!!! "

Only to rush in with it and examine the SD Card and find:
