Just got in and checked my message from director, The july sale is most likely postponed to either late august or early september. After talking with many buyers who want to come to buy fur that is likely the scenario because of the govt travel restrictions. FHA is solid as a rock and the fur trucks were loaded with fur.Very good shipment from Quebec trappers I heard. Ty for letting us know and validating our buyers information..that the July sale has been cancelled and is going to be To be rescheduled.. .i appreciate it We still haven't been notified from FH

"32.979% of the Canadian population has received at least one dose" Love the precision of that percent. I feel a lot less scared now that its 32.979 instead of 32.929%. Whew, I'm glad they gained that 0.05%, bad things may have happened!! Sorry, for hijacking the thread, but such "precision" is one of my pet peeves, see it mostly at work...

One would expect, for the major species, the grades would be established enough to purchase on line. It will be interesting to see just how many foreign buyers make the journey without the additional offerings once put up by Nafa.

You only have one chance to grab NAFA's buyers. It would be one thing if the buyers were buying from a company they have been dealing with for years and had built up a level of trust in a shady industry, however to be a new buyer at FHA it seems they would be a little reluctant to do business over a computer?

Pretty sure the buyers have always bought from all the auctions. One of the reasons the auction houses staggered their sales dates. The auction houses accommodate buyers requests as best they can. The graders were often poached between the auction houses though.A few I know went back and forth a few times.

Who ever graded the coon can go back to NAFA. He is the only one with any integrity there in my opinion. No one else in that company could care one bit about coon. LLL

They are the ones thinking about postponing another internut auction.

They sell fur, thats why they want buyers to attend. And the buyers told them they want to attend. Like I said they accomodate the buyers - they are the ones with the money right?Money talks and b------- walks.

That’s the question, together the offering was considerably larger and the timing perfect. I assume there is quite an investment in both time and money to attend. If the buyers could get over the attendance hump the auction could shine again. It’s happening in Kopenhagen because the market insists? Does China come over and touch every skin purchased in the country?

No but they do look at the samples. Most of the foreigners attending I believe don't understand or trust the grading system used for our fur. They want to feel and inspect the samples. The internet sales are a darn poor excuse for a sale, but what do you expect them to do, when trudope keeps the country locked up? They have an actual sale again someday, we may actually see a big improvement, that is what will see the market advance.

I was told today that Downey announced that the July sale is going to be held, not cancelled. Recent ranch mink demand is apparently heating up and they look for increasing wild mink and muskrat prices. Not putting this here to argue why's, wherefores and opinions, just telling you what FHA just told me this AM.

Just to clarify,I never said they were cancelling the july sale. The director said they were discussing a possible likely scenario of moving it to aug or sept-Nothing set in stone. They keep in close touch with the buyers and will try to provide what is best to supply them with our product.

Based on fluidity of the situation (closed Canada) I support intelligent decision making in an effort to stimulate the market. July, August or September? Whatever. If that means a 10+% increase to me that’s easy money.
