Not much longer. If I had my way it would of been gone long time ago. It's definitely gone in a few months

I kind of liked my land line for some reason but Verizon kept jacking the bill up and I even though I had cell service through them also. I tried negotiating but they wouldnt budge so I said BYE and ditched their services altogether. Got a cheap monthly cell plan and it works for me

Yep, same land line number since the party line. Our party lines in rural northern Mi. lasted till the late 70's Same # for close to 60 years, went from my folks to me.

Parents Had party line in the 50's then got a private line in the early 60's. Haven't had a land line since 2002!!! How much is a land line per month now? Do u still have long distance charges?

When I think of a land line I think of copper. Most phone companies aren’t even offering land line service anymore, unless it’s part of a fiber package. We haven’t had one for about 10 years or so and mine was basically free.

Ditched our landline 8 to 10 years ago. Had only kept it around for the quickness of caliing 911 in an emergency. Got tired of the never ending political calls, solicitors, etc. When our youngest got a cell also, the landline was gone. That said, I would prefer it over a cell phone, they get annoying at times. Was on a party line here until 1985 or so.

No cell service at the house so if I want a phone that's the ticket. way better sound reception on my landline anyway.

Yup, still have a rotary phone in the basement, still works for some numbers. Corded phone in a cupboard for when the power goes out.

We have a land line still. We have for our internet service and for our small business we have. Our cell phones are used between our families and people we know well.

We have both and have debated to drop the land line but have not as of yet.

Our local phone company is customer owned as when you bought your land line you got a share in the company. I get a capital credit check every December for my land line & my computer service. Have had the same number for 50 years and still have one corded phone. Had to get a cell phone for work a few years back, I hate it.

We have a package deal with AT&T, tv, landline phone, and internet.

I have had a land line since got married and moved out of my parent house 42 years ago. I was required to have a home phone for my job since 1988 even thought they didn't pay for it. I got my first cell phone in 1990 I believe it was? My cell number I don't give to just every body. All the places that want a phone number for every thing now days get the land line number. last few years at work almost every one was using cell phones.. The city put in this staffing system that robo called when they needed over timers or had and extra alarm fire. It drove them crazy that I wouldn't give them my cell number to put in the system. I was required to have a phone line and did. Was not required to sit by the phone when off duty waiting for it to ring for OT or extra alarm. So basically the guys that only have a cell phone are now carrying a pager.. My sister had the same kind of a deal. She kept her land line for the same reason until she became a supervisor. She now has just cell..
So I still have the land line and is mostly none family that uses it. I could get rid of it now that I'm not working. Is all part of internet package and I do still make most out going calls on it when I'm home. Guess still old school that way. Just got rid of last corded phone about month ago have 4 cordless now. Why? Caller ID on them.
