Been running the NF roads in WY and SD had a loud banging noise driving me crazy I checked the tailpipe, shocks nothing I could find, I pulled up on the bed and it was loose bushing gone it looks like. Common problem they won’t fix and it sounds like and they won’t stand behind it either that surprised me.
Sounds like the Tacomas can’t handle a lot of weight in them “who knew” it’s a 2018 43,000 miles just seems wrong to me. Looked on line common problem passenger side front bolt, looks like I’ll be making my own shims when I get back home.

Rusted out? I hear them Tacomas are bad for frame rusting.

Those plastic bed liners will make them rust faster. Got a 95 that did it as well as the frame broke. All out of warranty as well.

It happened to a lady I know too. She took it to the dealer 3 times so far.

My 98 had no bushings, the bed bolted tight to the frame. When the frame rotted out, I cut it off behind the cab, built a new set or frame runners, rebuilt one crossmember, and built a new one from scratch, and built a flatbed on top of it. Worked better than new! Still bolted tight to the frame, just like the original, and no problems. What kind of material is these composite beds made from?

I have some rubber tire type spacers off of the D50s I rebuild I will see if they will work just not sure what if anything that might react to the composite material over time?

I remember when you bought that thing. I was in a toss-up between the Tacoma and a Chevy Silverado at the time. I opted for the Chevy. My 2018 is at 102,000 miles today. I had to put a $100 starter on it so far and a set of tires. Next set of tires is on the horizon. Crossing my fingers for another 100K of trouble free miles! Hope your fix is cheap and easy!

Turn loose of that stink money and fix it like Lee said. Already have a plan.
