I am planning on ordering a new Black Widow bow tomorrow morning. Planning on getting the PCH II 3 piece takedown recurve. Do any of you all shoot a lack widow and if so how do you like it?

I don't shoot one but several I know do.
They all praise them.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

I shot one a bit. Quick of course. Hand shock as you would expect. But not a fan of recurves. Seemed a bit clunky in the riser but im is love with skinny longbows. Currently have lots of toelke whips and whistlers. He does make a few recurves that are supposed to be comparable. That said ive never heard any complaints from Black Widow. Seems like guys find a bowyer they like and stay the course. Thats my m.o. at least. How heavy? What are ya shooting out of it?

I have 3, an MA2, an SA2, and a PTFX. I like them well enough that a PSRX is in my sights. The MA is 62" and 51#, the SA is 60" and 50#, the PTFX is 60" and 50#. I think I'll order the PSRX at 60" and 45#. Just can't decide what veneers to order on the limbs. One thing, follow their suggestion and don't order too heavy on the draw weight, 45 to 50 is enough for anything in North America. On the used market 45 to 50 pounders are like hens teeth. Lots of heavier poundage limbs and bows are available.

Going to start with 45# limbs. Don't want to over bow myself starting out. As for arrows I am not sure yet. I have some gold tip carbon that are the wood grain heritage series that I will probably try first. Then might move to wooden.

I have shot an old bear Kodiak my dad had in the past. But it is right handed and I am left eye dominant so I am going to order a bow that is made the way I want it and in left handed

I have always been fascinated with traditional archery but never made the leap until now. I have shot compound for years. I called black widow this morning and talked to a guy for about 20 minutes. He said they are running 5 to 6 months out on a new bow build. so I might not get to do much hunting with it this year

Toelke could get you one is a 1/4 of the time. He is a bowyer here in MT. His bows are shot around the world. He might even have some in stock already made. Regardless, trad is the way, the truth, and the light

I have one. It's 28 pound, and I used it for indoor PAA shoots. The wife and I use to belong to PAA leagues and had a ball. This was back in the 70's, so it's an old bow. I haven't shot it in many years. Dad made my arrows. He had an archery shop where he made arrows when we lived in Ohio.

In carbon I typically end up with a 29 inch arrow with a spine of 500. In wood I use a 29 inch breasted cedar shaft, 5/16 at the nock end, 11/32 at the point, and 23/64 in the center. They fly like lasers for me with 125 grain points. I build my own arrows, chop a 4 1/2 inch banana feather, crown dip with aniline wood dye, dip with gasket lacquer, crest with automotive touch-up paint, and a last coating or two of gasket lacquer and fletch. My cedar shafts spine out at 45/50 pounds. Life is too short to shoot ugly arrows. I much prefer shooting cedar. They are quieter coming out of the bow and if and when you break one it smells real good. The only arrows I have broken on game were graphite. A couple on deer and a couple on turkeys.
