I know its a little early still, and youll probably end up with more gear before the season ends, but how many traps will you be running and what kind, I plan on running 12 mb450s for fox and yotes, 6 dps for coon, and just two duke 550s for cats, I'm going to take a break from water trapping and learn something new

As many as I can haha. Usually during November I’ll trap raccoons coyotes, and some muskrats. Once January hits, I’m trapping beaver, otter, rats and mink until the season ends.

Everything here except beaver and otter opens November 10th. Beaver and otter open the 26th of December, and everything closes at the end of February.

I usually run 50 - 60 traps, mainly footholds. Next season I'm gonna run about 2 dozen snares too. I use mainly Southern Snares' cable restraints, and Duke, Wolf Creek, and Sleepy Creek traps.

I'll be trying out some more #3 longs and coil spring and trying some Mb 650s for coyotes. I plan on hitting the mink hard in early season around middle of October when the season starts till ice then go to the coyotes, once ice is sturdy enough hit some rats through the ice along with beavers.

Before freeze up I’ll probly go after mink hardcore. I’ll do a lot of land trapping before the ground freezes too. After everything ices up I’ll go after the beaver and rats, and around December I’ll start on the weasels. Not much of a plan for number/kinds of sets, basically if I see sign, I set up on it.

May God bless you and give you tight chains

That is a pile myside, I've enjoyed following your thread on the chat forum, I'm about to start dying and waxing my canine traps which have now grown to include;
Bridger 1.75 os
Duke 550
Duke #4os
Mb450 closed and os
Sleepy creek 1.5 os for fox
Duke #2 dogless os
If I decide to do any water trapping this year I will dip all my water traps later in the year when some of the stinkin humidity is gone
