Thought the lower 48 was awash in turkeys. I have 2 cousins on farms in East and west Illinois. Turkeys on both. Looks like non res turkey is a lottery 😪 What is the non res land owner permit? Am I stuck hoping for a win in the lottery?

Looks like you residents don't want any non res hunting your turkeys!

Us res have to go thru a lottery also.

Lottery is a real headache. Over the counter tags a headache too as they cant be bought online and are BY COUNTY

Non res can start applying in the second drawing. There are 5 different seasons with the second season usually sold out the first drawing. You shouldn't have a problem drawing a tag. Good luck. Many people forget to put in the first drawing with deer season going on.

Thanks guys! One cousin is in Effingham county, the other in St. Clair. I can apply during the 2nd and 3rd lottery it appears. My cousins, landowner, can each apply for a landowner permit. Can I hunt the land owner permit?

Nope on the land owner permit. It is their permit only and they can hunt all 5 seasons on their property. Illinois has concealed carry but does not recognize any other permits. They were forced to give their residents permits by supreme court ruling. If you want and if they are available you can get up to 3 permits. Non Residents can apply for one permit in the second lottery then can apply for 2 more permits in the 3rd lottery.
