Does anyone still use this set? It was real popular when I first started trapping in the 70s.

Yes, this a standard set on our coyote line. I put 2 to 3 seats at each location. (If a location is good for one, its good for two or three). One set is always a dirthile with bait and other set is always a post set with urine only. If we put in a 3rd its usually another dirthole or post set. Urine can be fox or coyote doesn't matter for coyotes but about half of our catches come from the post sets. I used to make the third set something completely different like a flat set or a mound set of some type with lure, but in recent years I've simplified things and I leave the lure at home except for cat sets they get the whole works. Bait and pee sets are consistent catchers. With canines the territorial pissing is a very real thing to play on when targeting canines. Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

What Jabne said but I think Morgan described it best. At each location he said he had a 3 set minimum which was 1 hole, 1 post, and 1 flat set. He called it his triangle of death LOL.
They work so good I will usually make the post first and flat sets are what ever is layin close by. I dig a hole to give the possum a place to plug up a set and leave my posts alone

Normally put in a dirt hole, and about 20 steps away put in a urine set. Not to take away from the OP, but anyone remember or still use the (mound set)? Use them a lot in the openings in the woods, and what is nice is that they are there year to year, and the second year there grown over with grass
