I have never mounted any of the animals I have harvested, and I don't intend to start at 73 years old. For me selling the cat for $40 and taking the $800 and doing an out of state trapping week or so would be a better use of the funds, but that is just me and not the many on this forum who have many, many mounted and tanned annimals.

If that's a early caught female it looks pretty good to me . If its a late caught Tom it sucks . I think the cross eyes are caused by the camera angle . The hair isnt laying all lumpy on the face like so many taxi cats do but it looks awfully feminine to me . Ive seen taxidermist with good reputations turn a 36 lb tom into something that looked like a sick 25 lb female

Very few taxidermist or tattoo artist can do a bobcat or mountain lions face justice. Most do what I call the "pink panther face".
Most taxidermist seem to be good with other species but one that can do the wildcats face is few and far between.
A cross eyed or pink panther faced cat is about like a smiling coyote mount !
I agree with your assessment.

Nope

One reason I don't have or plan to have any predator mounted, takes the right taxi and in my experience more money

Eyes don't bother me so much as the profile of the face.

True, Sniper. The face looks too flat and wide.....and the eyes don't help none! lol

Go back and look at the face of that pretty cat that Hilltop had a link to on the first page!

Realize bobcats are among the hardest animals for a taxidermist to get to look natural and most taxidermists struggle. The forms they use are the first step and the premium forms sell for premium $$$ and most taxidermists go for the "better" type cast versus the "best" based on price.
