I knew this guy who accidentally had a Ruger #1 rifle discharge on it's own and caused damage to his foot. The firearm had a defect and many were recalled. A known defect and the gun went off with his fingers no where near the trigger. This recall had just been made known at the time of the incident so the guy this happened to was not aware of the defect until he hurt himself. He sued Ruger. Sound like a good court case ? In the trial Ruger's lawyers argued that a basic firearm safety tenant was broken. " Never point a firearm at a person or yourself " Bad muzzle control while handing firearm. Case was thrown out. Plaintiff got nothing , but firearm was defective. NRA benefactor member
