I have 4 old Victor 110's that need spring replacement, and a few Victor 220's that would also benefit from spring replacement. I'm considering buying Duke springs for the 110's because they are very strong and have large spring eyes for easier setting. Will Duke 220 springs work on my 220 Victors and would there be any benefit to using Duke springs vs Victor springs for the replacement process?
Also, what is the best procedure for closing the spring eye loop after fitting the new springs? Thanks.

I’ve always used the manufacturers springs. Some body grips are shaped differently and the size of the prong eye will determine the amount the trap closes, or doesn’t close; however, it should be minimal difference.

When opening or closing the spring eyes, always bend to the side. In other words, if you were to put the eye of the spring flat in a vice, twist the spring to open or close. Never try to pry it open wider. Hope that makes sense.
