I've heard Fram filters are no good because they are made out of paper. I use their premium filters. Oil and plastic impregnated paper and toilet paper are different animals!

Having used hundreds upon hundreds of oil filters over 40 years in the garage business, I've only ever had problems with 2 filters, both carquest filters about 5 years ago.
On those, the vehicle lost oil pressure to where the oil light would flicker at idle.

We've used wix and purolator mostly with 0 problems.

When you live in PA (or even more so NY) oil filter brand doesn’t matter one bit. With modern engines, your vehicle will rust away from road salt and chemicals long before the engine has issues.

I use Fram Tough Guard and all of my engines have outlasted the rest of the vehicle.

Ditto's to that. My 2004 Canyon has 228,000 miles and uses NO oil. My oil of choice is High Mileage Valvoline.

Both filter and oil are changed at about 4000 miles. Or whenever I think about it.

THIS is one of the main reasons I purchased a Toyota truck a year ago! I'll never peg that many miles though!!

WIX and Napa Gold as I understand it are the same WIX makes Napa's gold

there are some good videos where they cut them all apart to see what and how they are put together

gasket , type of valve , filter material

is the WIX / Napa Gold always the best , not necessarily but it is always competitive and often not near as expensive
