Yes, I understand the irony of what I am going to say because I am posting this on the internet.

I spent the day splitting and stacking firewood--one of my favorite obsessions. No phone, no computer, no television and no internet. I didn't watch or listen to the news. I didn't think about Biden, Trump, Covid, politics in general, our screwed up country or the economy.

I am outside a lot but I always have my darn phone with me. Not today.

Unplug boys and girls (especially some of the boys on here). Get outside without a connection to anything. It's good for the brain and soul. These stupid computers (and phones) are making us--well, kind of crazy at times.

Ignoring the problem won’t make it go away, libs are living proof of that.

Does this mean you're gonna log out for good ?

I sometimes have to carry a smart phone with me on the farm but not usually. I much prefer to listen to the crows, geese, hum of bees, etc.

Good reminder BC. We are more effective when we are mentally and emotionally healthy anyway.

Too many people let the almighty cell phone dictate their day. I too leave it inside the house or car when I'm out and about.

I like this thread. I do not own a cell phone but see all to many young & old that are slaves to their phone and other electronic devices .

Same here other than a couple of times getting a throw away one for out of state hunting trips. It is rather annoying when someone pulls out their phone in the middle of the conversation that you are having to answer the phone/text.

I haven't carried a cell phone since I retired 3 years ago.

I have a cellphone, but use it so seldom that I always forget to take it when I go out.

Been "unplugged" for a while now. I quit watching the news about a year ago. I no longer give a crap about politics. I finally put that annoying forum troll (the dipstick that posted something above) on ignore and no longer participate in political threads.

Live is a lot more enjoyable and less stressful now.

Oh, and I just got back from an extended stay at camp chasing thunder chickens around the endless mountains of Potter County Pa. It's easy to stay unplugged up there.

Ain't had my tv on in about a month...don't miss it at all.

I havnt watched TV in years. I do keep my phone handy. Not working today. Too much rain over the weekend. No dirt work going on anywhere. Could haul a few loads of driveway rock or something but I am going fishing.

It seems like every time I go out to eat I see families come in,take a seat,and mom and dad take out their cell phones and start scrolling ,they do it before,during,and after the meal,tuning out the kids.The one group that doesn't do this as much are the older folks.

I still remember getting a call meant I was within my allowed range from the back porch. Usually a call meant supper was ready, but at other times it was an emergency and time to get to the house.
As I got older I was to always have a dime in my pocket so I could call a favorite aunt that lived in town and had a phone, if I was in a situation.

Find it funny when we tout our freedom, while being tied to a phone like an umbilical cord !
