Makes sense to me. All the infantry has to do is haul in some big generators and fuel now so there patrol/observation vehicles can operate in a war zone. Will work lot better than just hauling fuel.

that is going to look cute in some movie , but didn't we learn , the hard way ARMOR is what was needed.
watched a thing on the Duce and a half armored gun ships they built and how effective they were , built from necessity with scavenged armor
much easier to focus on shooting back when you don't have to focus on getting shot

Next there'll be financial aid to countries that we may get into our next war with, so they can install a grid of charging points to recharge our military vechiles in the even of a US intervention. Its a brilliant plan if ya ask me. Do those turnips in charge start drinking before the sun is over the yardarm to come up with these crackpot ideas ?? Or are they on some other stuff ??
I can hear it now.
Sorry sir, we cant bring in ground troops. They have different plugs than us , so we cant plug our fighting vechiles in to charge up.
Let's go Brandon

They will have their place.......Off the top of my head they are quieter than gas even with the Special Ops muffler systems we run. They will not replace the line grunts vehicles but can see them being run by the tier 1 units.

in basically every single bad situation that we lost a bunch of guys in , we were short one or more of 5 things
AMMO , Water/food , communications , Fuel , or Armor
in some our men were simply told to hold indefensible positions which resulted in these 5 issues of supply
just given the number of times 24 hours turned into 36 or 72 are you going to send every vehicle with 4-5 times the battery it will need
could there be a use for these in some specific theater of battel , possibly , wouldn't they be better as a hybrid self charging system because invariably there will be supply issues.
where they could be useful is moving men around the base and for home base security , remote bases of operations running on generator would make no sense at all.
out current vehicles can run on multi fuel , if it burns you can probably get it to run , motor oil and gas mix , #2 jet A , Jet B , K1 , even some K1 and cooking oil mix and you can drive. most things get run on Jet A one fuel runs planes , chopper, trucks , generators , and more.

I would think until the weight and charging issues were worked out it would be a real problem to incorporate an all electric fleet in combat zones. When I was last in in the mid 70's the multi fuel trucks would burn diesel or gas. There were placards on the deuce and a halfs and 5 tons that said NO AVIATION fuel.Cold weather is a battery killer as well and would need addressed.
I could see them being able to make less complicated to work on then the new all electronic controlled systems in use in today's vehicles. A quick change battery system could be done fairly easily as well.

Does armor protect the batteries from an EMP?

Does armor protect the batteries from an EMP? No. Lead or a farriday cage.

I could see them being able to make less complicated to work on then the new all electronic controlled systems in use in today's vehicles. A quick change battery system could be done fairly easily as well. they recommend running a quart of motor oil to lube the injectors for every 5-10 gallons of gas I suspect the av gas warning had something to do with Ethanol or Methanol in some of the av gas , 100 low lead ave gas with a quart of oil new or used filtered and or hydraulic fluid or AFT to lube the injectors per every 7 gallons should run fine jet A is basically Kerosene Jet B is basically 30% kerosene and 70% gasoline JP-5 is approximately winterized diesel a low flash point Kerosene or K1 the warning may have also been that Jet A and B lack the lube of diesel or motor K1 , but they would burn fine and be fine with a little oil to lube the injectors #2 home heating oil should work also you may have to change filters a bit more as it has a lot more wax solids either way it is a very versatile design and run the best on #2 diesel

As I recall we always ran the diesel in em. Was kind of confusing as they all had spark plugs. They had the waterproof wires that were sealed all the way from distributor to and including the plugs with a copper loom. The M 88 tank retriever ran gas powered by a 12 cylinder air cooled engine. The rest were diesel other then the jeeps as I recall.

they can run gas but it shortens the life as I understand it , it is a lot to do with the lubrication
running #2 diesel is by far the best , if you have it

We fight a war with electric vehicles while Russia and China use vehicles with fossil fuels. It would be a short war and guess which two countries would win?
